Introducing our winter writers residencies

Published on June 3, 2013

Our website residencies have returned and this winter we’ll be publishing weekly writing from three terrific writers across different forms.

Emmie Rae is a writer from Sydney and the Internet at In June, she’ll be sharing poems that are concerned with sex, relationships and ways the Australian environment overlaps in everyday life.

Sam George-Allen is a Brisbane writer and musician who has been described as ‘scrappy’. She is a founding editor of Scum magazine. In July, she’ll be writing on the consequences of being a witch.

Chris Somerville’s first book, We Are Not The Same Anymore, was published earlier this year. He can be found at In August, he’ll be telling us some things about his family.

The artwork for the series is provided by the wonderful Amy Blomberg, a Brisbane based artist we really love.
